HA2 Task 10 - Review

Overall Project Review
My main goal in this project was very straight forward, it’s the idea to able to take a fully finished game product, all of its design and inspiration techniques, to create what some might call a inspired game. This inspired game would contain the same mechanics, same system, same basic game functions and goals, but filtered through with my own ideas. For example, the characters, enemies and setting all changed in terms of looks in order to satisfy my aspirations and imagination, but at the same time being a mock up of the original game that I was inspired by in the first place.
Research
In terms of research, I applied what was needed towards looking into the Mekka Hornet project, and what it been inspired by. I did a very good job of this, as I looked into full detail on where the inspiration came from and why.
In my evaluation,  a played the game, several times, in order to get a perfect over view, (Primary/Secondary Research) on what the game is and how it works. I seemed to have covered most aspects of the, or at least the most important parts that are very crucial when it comes to remodelling all the art work and replacing it with my own while keeping the Mechanics and functions. I described how the art style suits the game it is trying to be, and also works very well with how the game is played. On the other hand, I also talked about its weaknesses, and what I was able to understand about the functionalities of the game, such as the slow movement of the character, and the directions the player can move in. To finish it off, I also analysed the target audience of the game.
Design
From what I have compared, my design efforts turned out to be very successful, in terms of the quality of the art, and in comparison to the original game, and what it actually looks like. I also did a good job in the Idea inspiration, even though more research into inspiration and game ideas could have potentially been done, for characters design and uniqueness, but besides that, I managed to come up with a very cleaver story behind my modelled game, and great inspiration material for all the different components within the game, such as the enemies and the main Character. It all came together quite well, and fitted the design ideal perfectly. Only problem I faced, was converting my inspiration into a new full game idea, based on the design of the Mekka Hornet.
Towards the end of my Design and comparison template, I could not fill all of the needed interactive sprite used in the Mekka Hornet, for my own game, as my own game idea did not actually require them, so for a full remodel, it did have missing components in terms of content and production.
All my design were placed into advertisement content very well too, although, more different, styled content could have been created to go on the merchandise shirts, for further development of the Game and its popularity.
Conclusion
In Conclusion, my game could be made in success, but in when sought out as a remodelled version Mekka Hornet, it lacks in the sheer size of content. Even though my design and ideas were very creative and comparable to the game, there simply isn’t enough to fill in the gaps of the original.
